Are you looking for maximum fun for you and your family? The Europa Park at Rust near Freiburg,
Germany’s largest leisure park, offers thrills, relaxation, shows and events for the whole family.
There is something for everyone here, for example the "Silver Star" – a top roller coaster, the
Magic Cinema 4D, in which the world of film is close enough to touch, and many other great
attractions.
The idea for the park came to Franz Mack, the senior director, and his son Roland Mack in 1971
after a trip to Disneyland in Los Angeles. They bought a twelve-hectare site in Rust near Freiburg.
After just four years the father-and-son team was able to realise the idea. The park was opened on
12 July 1975.
On a 70-hectare site in the tree-lined grounds of the old castle Schloss Balthasar (built in
1442) you will find over 100 attractions and shows in divided into 12 European themes, largely
integrated into the architecture of the themes. 3000 employees look after the guests and some 3.9
million people visit the park each year. Europa Park is great value for money. The atmosphere
changes between the seasons, which is why many guests visit the park twice a year.
No other short-holiday destination in Germany offers a comparable range of entertainment and fun
for all age groups.
